This form is to be used by district leaders who are responsible for METCO enrollment to request applicants to be considered for METCO enrollment in your district for the following school year.
Please complete this form only when you are ready to start your admissions process.
- We strongly encourage you to consider requesting applicants in all grades to ensure that you have an applicant pool to fill all your seats. View application report here
- It is also highly recommended that you have an admissions committee to make enrollment decisions so that decisions are made by more than one person.
By requesting referrals at this time, you agree to:
- Not to request any EXTRA applications at this time to ensure we have enough to go around.
- If you still have available seats after you have made admissions decisions on all referred families and updated in the AVELA application portal with their appropriate status (offered, declined, or waitlisted), you may request additional applicants to be referred.
- To engage referred families in your admission process no later than three weeks after a referral has been made.
- To use AVELA to communicate with families to ensure full transparency and accuracy.
HOW TO USE THIS FORM
- Type the number of anticipated open seats in each grade that you will need to fill for next school year.
- This number includes the siblings of current students that you expect to apply. (These students still need to complete an application.)
- Write the names of these siblings in the grade level they will be attending in 24-25.
- You may not request students based on gender or race.
- Please allow seven business days to process your request.
