
GOAL 1: EXPAND OUR ENGAGEMENT
Create more opportunities for everyone in the METCO family to connect in a meaningful way – including alumni, students, urban and suburban families.
- Enhance existing programming to support the holistic development of students and address opportunity gaps as identified by Dr. Setren’s research
- Launch a coordinated parent engagement and outreach campaign
- Scale alumni engagement into its own dedicated department within HQ
GOAL 2: ALIGN OUR PURPOSE
Close opportunity gaps, enhance leadership development, build community within our network, and assess our progress through a shared set of district best practices.
- Operationalize Antiracism Roadmap and METCO Blueprint
- Leverage the METCO Blueprint as a foundation to develop indicators of what it means to be a METCO District
- Ensure successful implementation through programmatic oversight, evaluations, data gathering, and best practice sharing
- Partner with DESE and districts to obtain annual benchmark of program demographics and REI efforts for each district
- Provide METCO-wide professional development to districts in alignment with METCO Blueprint goals
- Seek funding to support district work to advance implementation of METCO Blueprint


GOAL 3: SECURE OUR FUTURE
Secure our legacy by funding the METCO Program and its unique offerings into the future.
- Determine budgetary needs and fundraise for the following targeted programs/initiatives
- Build a robust pipeline of public and private foundation grants aligned
- Establish annual giving cadence
- Establish alumni and parent giving program
- Increase year-over-year state funding
- Leverage METCO’s 60th anniversary as large-scale fundraising campaign
- Assess capital needs for larger METCO Headquarters building and explore ownership vs. leasing opportunities
